Somatic Education

The field of sō-mă-tĭcs was formed in the mid 1900's with the blossoming of the Feldenkrais Method, Alexander Technique, Rolfing, Hanna Somatics and much more.

Thomas Hanna, a student of Dr. Feldenkrais, coined the term “somatic” by building on the Greek word sō-mă, meaning the body. Encompassed in the idea of somatic education is the personal living experience of learning through one's own body.

The field of somatics has wide applications and benefits. Currently, we offer programs in three areas: Bones for Life, Feldenkrais Method, and our Protocol to Process Series.

  • Bones for Life – Intensive workshops for general public and Teacher Certification
  • Feldenkrais Method – Intensive workshops for general public and Advanced Trainings for Feldenkrais Practitioners
  • Protocol to Process Series – Workshops for Physical and Occupational Therapists, Physicians, Chiropractors, Bodyworkers and Somatic Educators.
